The San Francisco Immigrant Legal and Education Network

Our work for environmental and economic justice in immigrant communities is based in the belief that immigrants have the right to live without fear. The immigrant families we work with struggle to access resources and services due to cultural and linguistic barriers. PODER offers “Know Your Rights” workshops on a variety of immigration topics so that our communities can better advocate for themselves and defend their rights.

We are one of thirteen organizations belonging to the San Francisco Immigrant Legal and Education Network, which provides community education and legal assistance to immigrants from Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. In addition to education and information, the Network provides immigration services for low-income San Francisco residents including:

  • Family petitions
  • Green card renewal
  • Naturalization
  • Violence against Women Act (VAWA) petitions
  • Removal proceedings
